Terms and Conditions

1. Scope

  • 1.1These General Terms and Conditions apply to all services, programmes, events, memberships, consultations, publications, digital offerings and other activities of the IWAF.
  • 1.2 Deviating terms and conditions shall only apply if they have been accepted in writing by the IWAF.

2. Services provided by the IWAF

  • 2.1The International Women Athletes Federation (IWAF) provides services within the scope of its statutory objectives, in particular to promote female athletes, strengthen equality in sport and support development, networking and visibility at national and international level.
  • 2.2The type, content and scope of the respective services are set out in the current programme descriptions, individual agreements, membership models or other publicly available information provided by the IWAF.

3. Conditions of participation / requirements for use

  • 3.1Separate criteria may apply for participation in events or programmes (e.g. selection procedures, limited places).
  • 3.2By using the services, participants accept these terms and conditions as well as the statutes and guidelines of the IWAF.
  • 3.3The IWAF may exclude participants if they violate the association’s statutes, principles or instructions or disrupt the event.

4. Membership

  • 4.1The provisions of the statutes also apply to association members.
  • 4.2 Membership does not entitle members to specific services from the IWAF.

5. Fees and terms of payment

  • 5.1Prices, participation fees or membership fees will be announced before the contract is concluded. 5.2
  • 5.2Unless otherwise stated, invoices are due within 14 days without deduction.
  • 5.3In the event of late payment, the IWAF is entitled to charge reminder fees and interest on arrears at the statutory rate.

6. Withdrawal and cancellation

  • 6.1Cancellations and withdrawals must be made in writing to the email address officially announced by the IWAF.
  • 6.2The IWAF may cancel events for important reasons (e.g. force majeure, illness, insufficient number of participants). Payments already made will be refunded in full; further claims are excluded.

7. Liability

  • 7.1The IWAF is only liable for damages resulting from intent or gross negligence.
  • 7.2No liability is accepted for indirect damage, loss of profit or pure financial loss.
  • 7.3Participants’ personal belongings are not insured.

8. Copyright

  • 8.1Documents, content and media created by the IWAF are protected by copyright.
  • 8.2Any disclosure, publication or use beyond the scope of the contract requires the written consent of the IWAF.

9. Data protection

  •  9.1The IWAF processes personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection laws (in particular the GDPR).
  • 9.2The data is processed exclusively for association purposes and the performance of services.

10. Rules of conduct / good governance

  • 10.1All participants, members and contractual partners of the International Women Athletes Federation (IWAF) are bound by the principles of equality, fair play, integrity and mutual respect.
  • 10.2 Discrimination, abuse of power, unsportsmanlike behaviour and doping will not be tolerated.
  • 10.3All parties involved undertake to comply with recognised international standards and the ethical guidelines and principles of conduct of the IWAF.
  • 10.4The IWAF may take appropriate action in the event of violations of these principles.

11. Arbitration

  • 11.1Disputes arising from membership of the association shall be settled by the arbitration tribunal provided for in the statutes.
  • 11.2The following applies to external contractual partners: The parties shall first endeavour to reach an amicable solution. If no agreement can be reached, the competent court at the IWAF headquarters shall have jurisdiction.

12. Final provisions

  • 12.1 Should individual provisions be invalid, the remainder of the contract shall remain valid.
  • 12.2Amendments to these General Terms and Conditions must be made in writing.
  • 12.3 Austrian law shall apply.
